Ciutadella

The small port of Ciutadella is Menorca's second largest town. Ciutadella has a strong Spanish and Moorish feel and the influence is easy to see in the town's gothic architecture and scenic harbour.

The town has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for whiling away the hours. There are also lots of great shops, bars and restaurant, as well as interesting beach coves to explore.

Mahon (Moa)

Chilled-out Mahon is the capital of Menorca. The island's British history is clear to see in the elegant Georgian townhouses and other beautiful buildings.

The mansion house, Golden Farm on a hill overlooking the town was once occupied by Lord Nelson.

Head to the harbour for a wide choice of excellent cafes and restaurants that line the seafront.

Albufeira Nature Reserve

This national park is a vast wetland with dramatic landscape. It has been popular since Roman times and features all sorts of fascinating wildlife, including falcons and other wild birds.

Walkers and cyclists will love exploring the nooks and crannies of the park, following a series of winding pathways to find the best observation points and coves by the sea.

Menorca beaches

At Fornells in the north, an attractive fishing village, there is a bay that's ideal for windsurfing with Cala Tirant beach nearby.

Cala Galdana is set in a horseshoe bay and is very popular. The small resort of Santo Tomas on a stretch of golden sand is great for couples and families.

Son Bou is one of the longest beaches and leads on to open, unspoilt countryside with a few shops and bars nearby. Binebeca and Binisafua are now mainly residential.
